Tuesday, May 11th, 2010

The Denver Post is reporting that a 20-year-old man has died while rafting on the Piedra River in Archuleta County. Sheriff’s officials say that Robert Reiter, of Gypsum, was training to be a river guide when he fell off his raft and became stuck under a submerged log. Reiter was among seventeen other trainees on a familiarization trip. The accident occurred in Second Box Canyon, an area that is inaccessible by foot.  Archuleta County search-and-rescue recovered the body on Sunday.
